This is no fantasy…

We spend our lives idolizing people of greater importance than ourselves; sports heroes, movie stars, political leaders, and people of great wealth. Some of us even imagine meeting them and becoming their best friend. One day we all get to meet the greatest individual of all time. Jesus Christ, leader of the free world, freedom from sin , and forgiver of all , if we simply choose to confess that He is Lord of all, Creator of the universe.

The Bible says that everyone will meet Him at judgment day and that everyone one will bow down to Him and confess Him as Lord . However, if we confess Him now, then He will confess us before His Father at judgment day. If we don’t confess Him as Lord, then He will deny us before His Father and claim He never knew us. Quick recap: If we confess Him now, His Father will save us from our own mistakes and by grace we will be saved. In other words, we will be pardoned by the Great Judge from a sentence we deserved and will spend eternity in a really cool place, heaven. Not only will we be spared from punishment, God will also make us joint heirs with Jesus ; everything that is His is ours as well. We become God’s children and that makes us brothers and sisters of the One and Only Son of God.

This is no fantasy. We have an opportunity to become brothers and sisters with the Creator of the universe and yet we are more concerned with how we’d look going out in public in front of people we do not know nor may ever see again.

If Only

Category: Thoughts — admin @ 3:37 PM

The following article is by Joel Osteen:

“He who tends a fig tree will eat its fruit…”
(Proverbs 27:18, NIV)

It’s easy to get stuck in the trap of thinking that if only your circumstances would just change, then life would be better. You might think, “If I got a new job, or a new house or had better friends, then I would really be happy.” But I’ve learned that often times, God changes us before He changes our circumstances. We are thinking, “If only my circumstances would change,” when God may be thinking, “If only your attitude would change!”

Today, if you’ve been thinking, “If only,” it’s time to turn your thoughts around. Don’t allow negative thinking to direct your attitude or affect how you treat others. Instead, begin to thank God for what He has planned for you. Bloom where you are planted. Tend to what God has placed in your hand. If you will focus on what you have instead of focusing on what you don’t have, then God can bless you and multiply you and lead you forward into the destiny He has in store for you!

We are all human

Category: Pastor Jason — admin @ 10:28 PM

I was a scrawny 15 year old boy who attended Oceanside High School and at the end of one spring school day I won a raffle at my school. I won a Scott slick bottom boogie board. I was so excited and couldn’t wait to ride the waves. However, a mob began to swarm around me, ready to beat me up and take the board. A tall senior stepped in between me and the mob. He looked down at me and told me to run; that was the day I met Junior Seau. Junior Seau stepped in and saved me. I never interacted with him again, but I will never forget that day that he intervened in my life; he was a great man.

In 1992, Seau created the Junior Seau Foundation with the mission to educate and empower young people through the support of child abuse prevention, drug and alcohol awareness, recreational opportunities, anti-juvenile delinquency efforts and complimentary educational programs.

Unfortunately, as you probably already know, Junior Seau has committed suicide. The Junior Seau I knew, loved football, loved God and loved people. I do not know how he lived his life in his last years and I do not know what drove him to such a heinous act. What I do know is that no one, no matter how much money we make or how much fame we receive in our life, none of us is above being human. All of us carry scars from life, pain from unjust moments and all of us carry emotional baggage. All of us need God.
